How do I transfer ownership of my business (selling business)?

If you are selling your business or transferring ownership, Pike13 requires a formal handover process to ensure security and billing continuity.

Step 1: Notify Pike13 Support

The current Primary Owner must submit a written notice of ownership change.

  • Email: help@pike13.com

  • Include:

    • Name of the Business.

    • Name of the New Owner.

    • Effective Date of the transfer.

    • Our support team will note the account and guide you on any backend contract updates.

Step 2: Transfer Admin Access (In Software)

You must technically hand over the "keys" to the software by changing the Primary Owner role.

    1. Add the New Owner:

      • Go to Staff > + New Staff Member.

      • Add the new owner's details and set their role to Owner.

    2. Promote to Primary:

      • Log in as the Current Primary Owner.

      • Go to the New Owner's Profile.

      • Change their role from Owner to Primary Owner.

      • Note: There can only be one Primary Owner. This action automatically demotes you (the seller) to a standard Owner.

           3. Revoke Staff Access (Optional):

      • The New Primary Owner can now go to the Previous Owner's profile.

      • Click Advanced Actions > Revoke Staff Privileges to remove their access to the site.

Step 3: Update Pike13 Subscription Billing

Ensure the monthly software fees are charged to the new owner's credit card, not the old one.

    1. The New Primary Owner must log in.

    2. Go to Settings > Billing Info.

    3. Click Update Your Card and enter the new payment information.

    4. Recommended: Send a follow-up email to help@pike13.com to confirm the billing records are fully updated on the backend.

Step 4: Transfer Merchant Processing (Critical)

This step ensures client payments go to the new bank account.

You must contact your Merchant Service Provider (e.g., Stripe, NMI, Celero) directly to request a change of ownership.

    • Warning regarding Saved Credit Cards: Pike13 does not store client credit card numbers; your merchant processor does.

    • If the new owner sets up a brand new merchant account (rather than taking over the existing one), your clients' saved cards will not transfer automatically. You may need to request a "Data Migration" from your processor to move the credit card tokens to the new account.

Step 5: Rebranding & URL Changes

The new owner allows customizations to match their brand.

    • Visuals: Go to Settings > Advanced Settings to update the Logo and Colors.

    • URL Change: If you wish to change your website address (e.g., changing oldgym.pike13.com to newgym.pike13.com), you must contact Pike13 Support.
