Step Four - Products
Learn how to set up passes, plans, and memberships so clients can pay for your Pike13 services.
Now that you have created your Services, you need to create the financial products that clients will buy to pay for them. In Pike13, there are three main types of products:
-
Passes (Punch Cards): A set number of visits that expire after a certain date (e.g., "10-Class Punch Card").
-
Prepaid Plans: A contract paid upfront for a specific duration (e.g., "1 Month Unlimited" or "Fall Semester").
-
Recurring Plans (Memberships): A subscription that bills automatically on a schedule (e.g., "Monthly Unlimited Membership").
Important Note for Course-Based Businesses
If your business only offers semester-based Courses (like a summer camp or 6-week workshop), clients pay for the course enrollment fee directly. You generally do not need separate passes or plans.
-
Action: If you only use Courses, you can skip ahead to Step 5: Advanced Settings.
Introduction
This video explains the strategic differences between the three product types and helps you decide which is right for your business model.
Pass
A Pass acts like a digital punch card. Clients purchase a specific number of visits, and Pike13 deducts one visit every time they check in. Once the visits hit zero, the pass is used up.
Prepaid Plan
A Prepaid Plan is active for a set window of time (e.g., 3 months). It does not auto-renew. You can set it to allow Unlimited Visits or cap the visits (e.g., "2 visits per week").

Recurring Plan
A Recurring Plan is the engine of a membership business. It bills the client automatically (Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly). It continues to bill until canceled or until a specific number of billing cycles is reached.

Checklist: Before Moving to Step 5
Before you proceed to the next step of onboarding, please ensure you have completed the following:
-
Created your Paid Products: At least one Pass, Prepaid Plan, or Recurring Plan.
-
Created a Complimentary Pass: If you plan to offer free trials.
-
Linked your Products to Services: Crucial Step. You must tell the system which classes a specific pass can pay for (e.g., "The 10-Class Pass pays for Yoga, but not Pilates").
-
Consult your Onboarding Specialist: If you are moving from another software and need to transfer client data, contact your Onboarding Specialist.
If you have questions about these tasks, please reach out to your onboarding specialist.
